“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo Buscaglia
We offer help and advice to PNG citizens in the UK who are experiencing financial difficulties or other challenges. Whatever the circumstances, our aim is to provide individuals and families with basic necessities to help alleviate stress or suffering.
We can offer guidance and insights on a wide range of topics, including social and cultural issues. We can also provide signposting to other reliable sources of advice and information.
We can provide translators to interpret for important discussions between PNG citizens and officials such as health or social care professionals.
We offer financial support for individuals or families in need. The amount of grant depends on individual circumstances, but would typically range from £150 to £250.
Please note: any grant awarded will NOT be paid directly to the applicant but to one of the referees or referring agencies, for example social workers, Citizens Advice Bureau advisors, health professionals etc. It may be paid in weekly or monthly instalments.
To apply for financial assistance, download the application form. The Wantok Support Trustees will endeavour to make a decision within five working days of receiving an application form and supporting documentation.
