Wantok Support is working with Kits2Kids to collect new and used sportswear and equipment, especially rugby kits.
In 2011, the Chairperson of Wantok Support, Mr Nigel Walkinshaw, worked in partnership with St Joseph’s College (Ipswich, United Kingdom), Samurai Sportswear, Mr. Chris Noble MBE, Director of Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club, and Rotary International (Boroko, Papua New Guinea) to collect new and used sportswear and equipment for the children and adults in Papua New Guinea. Samurai Sportswear gave Mr Walkinshaw boxes and boxes of new sportswear and equipment and the students at St Joseph’s College donated many rugby and football boots totalling 102 pairs. These were then sent to Kits2Kids who then shipped it to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea where Rotary International has been instrumental in delivering them to schools and other institutions throughout the country.
Wantok Support will continue to work with Kits2Kids to collect more sportswear and sports equipment. If you would like to donate any sportswear or sports equipment please contact us. You can also donate financially so that a complete set of sportswear for rugby or football can be purchased for schools or clubs in Papua New Guinea. Donate here.
